JARUS
Jarus is a multi-instrumentalist singer-songwriter based in Seattle, Washington. His wistful lyricism and evocative instrumentation underpin a musical style influenced by a gamut of artists, from the likes of James Vincent McMorrow, to Explosions in the Sky, to Philip Glass. One particularly gracious observer noted that Jarus' debut album, Oh! Propensity! is "like a Fleet Foxes/Sufjan Stevens collaboration that never happened" - another, that it is "a cross between Muse, Punch Brothers, Radiohead, and Mumford & Sons".
Jarus is the solo project of Michael Tavani, a co-founder of Immensity Records. He has appeared on stages large and small, from the Grand Ole Opry to The Viper Room, across the United States and the world, as a cellist and performer.
